The Common Place was born out of the passion that exceptional goods belong in daily life. Founder Krista believes that investing in quality is always the right choice and it ripples outward – through the maker getting paid a fair price, the environmental impact being as gentle as possible, and the products being health-supporting for the user.
Krista came to us with a business idea, therefore this brand and website were created from the ground up in collaboration with an owner who had a clear and succinct vision. We put together a comprehensive branding package made by our design team, and a Shopify website that offered a streamlined and efficient e-commerce platform.

As a remote team, we acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territories of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples who have cared for this land since time immemorial. Our home office is situated on the unceded traditional territories of the Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ people, the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum and Kwiakah First Nations. Our team’s diverse origins as Settlers mean that our individual paths towards reconciliation are guided with both local and global truths about colonization and its ongoing ramifications for Indigenous Peoples everywhere. As we celebrate the diversities that surround us, we continue to educate ourselves and look at how we can contribute to a more equitable future for all.
